There are also some sources, which say Jeffrey Dahmer
returned to the cemetery years later and dug up the remains
of the buried animals, then smashed up the bones with
a sledgehammer and scattered the fragments into the woods.
Whether or not this last bit is true I cannot say for
sure, nor what relevance, if any it had on his downfall.
Jeffrey Dahmer discovered alcohol early on in High
School during his parents divorce. Home life had never
been much of a picnic for Jeffrey Dahmer, and always
seemed to be in decline. Jeffrey Dahmer claimed to have
hated his parents and loathed their constant bickering. "Always
at each others throats" He sights their relationship
as the reason he vowed never to marry. It was during
this troubled time, his parents divorced finalized, and
they both packed up and moved away, leaving behind their
18year old son, Jeffrey Dahmer whom barley 3 weeks after
graduation committed his first murder. *
In the first weeks of summer, 18 y/o Jeffery Dahmer
picked up 19-year-old Steven Hicks, who was hitchhiking
on the wrong road at the wrong time....
The two went back to Jeffrey Dahmers house with intentions
to 'party'. There they did just that; they hung out had
some beers, messed around a bit, whether they actually
had sex is not known, so I shall not imply fallacies.
It was when Steven Hicks made to leave that Jeffrey Dahmer
smashed in the back of his head with a barbell and strangled
19 y/o Steven Hicks to death. He then moved the body
into a crawl space underneath the house where he proceeded
to dismember it, storing the pieces in plastic bags,
and burring them.
It would be some 8 years before Jeffrey Dahmer would
kill again. He went on to enroll in college, but quickly
dropped out after only a few months. He then signed on
for a 6-year term of military service, but was discharged
after two years due to his drinking. *
At age 22 Jeffrey Dahmer moved in with his Grandmother
in West Allis, Wisconsin. He was drinking excessively
and was apt to extreme mood swings for no reason. He
was defiant and aggressive toward his grandma and those
who were able to get close to Jeffrey Dahmer. He soon
began working at a blood bank. That lasted for a bit,
and in 1985 he went to work at the Ambrosia Chocolate
Company as a general laborer.
Around this time he discovered the local gay scene.
He cautiously began to explore the gay hangouts and bars,
gaining confidence as time passed. Driven by sexual sadism
and the will to cause pain he soon found his prey. He
spent much of his free time cursing the gay scene, and
on night in Sept. 1987 he picked up Stephen Tuomi. The
two checked into a hotel room together and as Jeffrey
Dahmer would recall it years later; after drinking heavily
and having sex they both passed out and when Jeffrey
Dahmer awoke he found Stephen Tuomi dead beside him and
his blood all over Jeffrey Dahmers face. Jeffrey Dahmer
then went out and purchased a large suitcase in which
he transported the body to his grandma’s house,
where he proceeded to dispose of it as he had Steven
Hicks years before.
* Jeffrey Dahmers killings gradually escalated
from there. In Jan. 1988 he murdered James Doxtator,
two months went by and on Mar. 24th he killed Richard
Guerrero.
